Dear Old Johannian,

On behalf of St John’s College, I extend a warm invitation to you to attend Gaudy Day.

Gaudy Day is scheduled for Saturday 16 July 2011. It is a day filled with sporting, cultural, and social events and we look forward to sharing it with you.

The day starts for Old Johannians with coffee and croissants in Darragh Hall at 08h30, followed by mass in the chapel at 09h00. The celebrant at this mass will be Fr Michael Arnold OJ. Breakfast will be served in Darragh Hall at 10h30. You are cordially invited to lunch at 12h30 in the marquee next to Burger Field. There will be a cash bar available. If you wish to attend the lunch could you please make a booking with Carol Wiswall at 011 645-3000 orwiswall@stjohnscollege.co.za by no later than 24 June.

Mr Clive Rice and Dr John Pettifor will be honoured with Eagle Awards for their service in the fields of cricket and paediatrics respectively. They have gone out from St John’s well trained in body, mind, and character and served well.

The programme for the day is included and refreshments will be on sale on Burger Field from 11h00. Parking will be on part of C and D rugby fields and a shuttle bus will move between the Main Arch and Burger Field throughout the day.

The St John’s Old Boys Rugby Team playing against an Old Ed's team concludes Gaudy Day after lunch. A family function planned by the Parents’ Association will continue festivities into the night.

An informative tour of the Edoardo Villa sculptures that have been positioned on the St John’s  College campus
12:30 Drinks in the marquee adjacent to Burger Field where a Cash Bar will be open

Enjoy a delicious carvery in a casual setting at no charge
