» St John’s College International Schools’ Golf Tournament 2010

 
 

St John’s College, in association with FNB Private Clients, will be hosting the seventh annual International Schools’ Golf Tournament from 1 to 4 September 2010 at the Sun City Resort, North West Province.

This year’s field is made up of 30 Southern African teams with two international schools participating.  Three schools will be making their debut appearance at this year’s tournament.

The Tournament will be played over four days, utilizing the two Gary Player designed golf courses at the resort. The competition comprises teams of four boys who all play off scratch handicaps.

Tournament Details

The tournament will be played over four days, utilizing both the Gary Player Country Club Course and the Lost City Golf Course.  The competition format is laid out in the table below and the tournament rules will be in accordance with those set out by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrew’s, Scotland.

Please note that this tournament is only open to boys and all entrants must be registered, full-time students at the school they represent and must be 18 years or younger, on
1st January 2010.

  • Five night’s accommodation in the Sun City Cabanas Hotel for both coaching staff and players on a bed and breakfast basis.
  • Opening Ceremony – all drinks are for own account.
  • Dinner Vouchers for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
  • Schoolboys – four rounds of golf, including halfway house, on all four days of tournament play.
  • Accompanying Staff – two complimentary rounds of golf PER SCHOOL for staff. At this early stage, we have 1 round of golf confirmed for the staff but are pretty confident that there will be two rounds per school allocated by the time the tournament is staged.
  • Payment of Spotters (1 per 4 ball) for both games at the Lost City (this includes their halfway house).
  • Prize Giving Dinner on Saturday 4th September.
