
» St John’s College International Schools’ Golf Tournament 2012
The Tournament will be played over four days, utilizing both the Gary Player Country Club Golf Course and the Lost City Golf Course and all players play off a scratch handicap. The competition format is laid out in the table below and the tournament rules will be in accordance with those set out by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrew’s, Scotland.

Terms and Conditions of Entry
- The total number of teams participating in the 2012 event will be 32.
- Closing date for all entries will be Friday 24th February 2012. Should we have not heard from you by this date, it will be assumed that your school is not interested in participating in the 2012 tournament.
- Schools selected to participate in the 2012 event will be notified via email by Friday 2nd March 2012. Selection will be final and no negotiation will be entered into.
- When completing the entry form, please ONLY include the names and handicaps of your school’s top 6 golfers who will be attending your school in 2012 and who will in all probability, be representing your team, should your team be selected. All the required information on the entry form MUST BE COMPLETED in order for your school to be considered for selection.
- The tournament is only open to BOYS and all entrants must be registered, full- time students at the school they represent and must be 18 years or younger on 1st January 2012.
- The Tournament Committee reserves the right to remove a team from the final line up of participants if it has been found that the strength of the 6 golfers has changed dramatically from the original naming of the school’s top 6 golfers, from which the selection has been made. In this case, the school will be replaced by a school on the waiting list. This will be strictly enforced in 2012.
- Once selected and notified of your selection, you will need to confirm your team’s entrance into the tournament by paying a 50% Non Refundable Deposit by Monday 2nd April, failing which your team will automatically forfeit their place.
- The balance of your payment AND the final submission of your players names and handicaps is due by Friday 18th May and there will be NO EXCEPTIONS MADE. Schools not originally selected, will be notified as soon as possible, should a space become available.

For ‘first-timers’, a twin room has two twin beds (sleeps maximum two people) and a family room has two twin beds and a pull-out sleeper couch (sleeps maximum four people). Both room types have a shower and a toilet en-suite.
- TRANSPORT (should it be required), by bus from St John’s College, OR Tambo and Lanseria Airports to Sun City on Tuesday 7th August (late morning/early afternoon) and from Sun City to Lanseria and Or Tambo Airports and St John’s College on Sunday 12th August. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE YOUR FLIGHT BOOKINGS UNTIL YOU HAVE HAD CONFIRMATION OF YOUR TEAM’S SELECTION TO THE 2012 TOURNAMENT.
- FIVE NIGHT’S ACCOMMODATION in the Sun City Cabanas Hotel for both coaching/managing staff and players on a bed and breakfast basis.
- OPENING CEREMONY. All drinks are for your own account.
- DINNER ‘VOUCHERS’ for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
- GOLF – Schoolboys – four rounds of golf, including halfway house.
- GOLF – Staff – two complimentary rounds of golf, including halfway house, PER SCHOOL.
- PAYMENT OF SPOTTERS (1 per 4 ball) for both games at the Lost City (including their halfway house).
- PRIZE GIVING DINNER on Saturday 11th August.
