The YSLF (Yeoville Steak Holders Forum) and JDA who have been tasked to develop the business sector, Police station, Clinic, Welfare center, etc. St John’s College pupils have joined in this drive to assist with the clean-up campaign, exposing them to the needs of those less privileged.
Nazareth House in Yeoville cares for orphaned and vulnerable children. The facilities include a Children’s Home, an Aids Care Centre and an Old Aged home. The premises of Yeoville Community School are used after school hours for various activities. Pupils from St John’s regularly visit the aged, assist children with homework, play sport and arrange recreational activities. We have found that after a while there is a shift from duty when a relationship develops between the orphans or elderly, which is very fulfilling.
The academic staff of St John’s contribute in expertise, assisting in the fields of Maths, English, Science and IT.
