Badges
Boys participating in ensembles are eligible to wear a badge. The Jolly Choir wears a blue badge and the Senior Choir wears a maroon badge. Members of the Schola Cantorum wear the Schola Tie. Members of the Jazz Band, String Ensembles and Marimba Ensembles wear the Orchestra Badge. These badges are awarded when it has been established by the staff member in charge that a boy shows dedication and commitment to the ensemble.

Colours Awards
Colours are awarded to Lower III and Upper III boys only. The criteria are as follows:

These three points should be met in Lower III:
  • At least a Grade 3 pass on any instrument or on voice
  • Participation in the Senior Choir at an excellent level
  • Participation in the Schola Cantorum or in one instrumental ensemble at an excellent level
These three points should be met in Upper III:
  • At least a Grade 4 pass on any instrument or on voice
  • Participation in the Senior Choir at an excellent level
  • Participation in the Schola Cantorum or in one instrumental ensemble at an excellent level
Honours Awards
Boys can only achieve an Honours Award in Upper III. All three of the following points should be met:
  • Grade 4 or higher with distinction should have been passed on any instrument or on voice
  • Participation in the Senior Choir at an excellent level
  • Participation in the Schola Cantorum or any instrumental ensemble at an excellent level

» Public Speaking Awards

Colours may be awarded to boys who have achieved a standard of excellence in Public Speaking. Boys need to have participated in at least three Edith Cooke Public Speaking Contest finals and represented the school at Chatterbox contests.
