Cultural: The Drama Club
The Prep school has a great dramatic tradition. Our boys watch and keenly participate in many productions presented by travelling theatre companies. Each year Lower and Upper III boys are encouraged to attend the Children’s Arts Festival in Grahamstown where they enjoy many productions from the Fringe Festival and participate in artistic, dramatic and musical workshops.

Drama lessons are available to all Prep boys on Wednesday afternoons. These lessons are given by Mrs Gillian McCabe. From time to time, Mrs McCabe also hosts drama camps during the school holidays.

Each year the Prep school presents a major production. These productions are usually great fun and very lively. Lower and Upper III boys are cast in the lead roles and every other boy in Upper II, Lower and Upper III has a role in the chorus. Boys are involved in all areas of the production, from workshopping their lines to choreography and set building.

In 2008 we presented Oliver and are currently in rehearsal for our 2009 production Alex in Wonderland.
