Sports awards at St. John’s can only be awarded to boys who are in Lower Three or Upper Three, or if they are in the Under 12 or 13 age-groups, except in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the Sports Colours Committee.
The awards, which may be awarded throughout the year, are in the form of badges (Half Colours) and scrolls (Full Colours) for each sport. A boy who has received three different Full Colour awards is eligible for Sports Honours.
Badges may be worn on the boy’s tracksuit, or on his blazer. Once the boy has achieved his Colours scroll, however, he must remove his badge from his blazer.
