St John’s Preparatory is an independent Christian school. Our aim is to enable boys to develop their individual potential through exposure to a holistic range of academic, sporting, creative and cultural activities. Our primary goal is for boys to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to produce well-adjusted, self-confident young boys prepared for the academic, social and life challenges of the College.
In educating boys we strive to provide an environment that will:
| – | Develop the boy's ability to examine and use information by teaching the essential skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. |
| – | Develop research skills, computer literacy and the ability to access, assess and apply information |
| – | Develop an awareness of the diverse South African cultures and languages. |
On leaving the Preparatory school, boys should have developed a sense of autonomy, social responsibility and a respect for one another and the rights of individuals.
