» CATEGORY A – Clubs and Societies: Chess
Chess is offered as a cultural activity on Tuesday afternoons.
We have one of the strongest chess teams in the South Gauteng Chess Association High Schools’ League. Many of our players represent either Gauteng South, Gauteng or Gauteng West. Our players have represented South Africa in international chess competitions for many years.
In the first term of 2009 we participated in the 5-a-Side competition which ran for six weeks. In the second term we took part in the South Gauteng High Schools’ League where we played in the Premier Section and the play-off which was hosted at St John’s College in the third term.
