Special moments for two Old Johannians on Sunday, 15 February 2026 at the NTT Pro Am Sunshine Tour HotelPlanner event at Fancourt on the Montagu Golf Course.
Old Johannians, Brett Tucker (Clayton 1997), who had the privilege of caddying for Jaco Ahlers, and professional golfer, Justin Walters (Nash 1998) shared the fairways with none other than Ernie Els, four time Major Champion and one of the true legends of the game.
It was a proud moment, reflecting once again how Old Johannian connections continue to appear in the most unexpected and special places.
Justin turned professional in 2003 and has built an exceptional career. A two time winner on the Sunshine Tour, including the 2011 Investec Royal Swazi Open, he began competing on the Challenge Tour in 2012 and has since played more than 300 events on the European Tour.
He has recorded four runner up finishes on the European Tour: twice at the Portugal Masters in 2013 and 2019, the Joburg Open in 2014, and most memorably at the 2020 ISPS Handa UK Championship, where he tied for the lead after 72 holes before narrowly losing in a playoff.
An outstanding record and a wonderful ambassador of the Old Johannian and St John’s College communities.
