St John's College

Masibambane College celebrated its annual Founders Day on 18 May 2024, marking one of the most significant events in the school calendar.

St John's has enjoyed a long history and partnership with Masibambane College that includes governance, sports, culture, funding, and staff development support. Representatives from the College were delighted to be part of the festivities on the day that coincided with the birthday of the late Walter Sisulu, a pivotal figure in South Africa's liberation struggle and a key player in the establishment of Masibambane College.

Students from the College, Sixth Form, and Academy joined the Masibambane students in games of basketball, netball, chess, and soccer throughout the day. They displayed a wonderful spirit of sportsmanship and mutual respect, reaffirming the importance of the partnership between our schools.

A high-level delegation, including representatives from the Austrian Embassy, friends from Vienna, and members of the Sisulu Family, were also in attendance, adding to the significance of the school in the Orange Farm community.

Masibambane College High School officially opened in 2010 and has been home to more than 1,000 students. In recent years, the high school has consistently achieved an impressive 100% matric pass rate and many distinctions. Despite limited funds, Masibambane College strives to provide the best for its students, and through partnerships, it has developed its facilities and focused on STEM subjects.
