The annual College Art Exhibition sparkled with elegance as our community gathered in the Rene England Auditorium for a delightful evening of cocktails and canapes and to view the work of our College students.
The 2nd Archbishop Emeritus Tutu Memorial Mass & Lecture held in the Memorial Chapel on Sunday, 8 October, was a profound event presided over by our College Chaplains with a special guest lecture by The Revd Frank Chikane.
The Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu Walk was held on Saturday, 7 October, on what would have been the late Arch’s 92nd birthday, bringing communities together for a pilgrimage to reflect and connect with the people and spaces around them.

The highlight of Public Speaking during the Michaelmas term was the Sixth St John's College Youth Speaking Festival, where independent, state, township and inner-city schools came together to celebrate everything good about South Africa and Heritage Day.

As the St John’s community recognises and celebrates the significant milestone of its 125th birthday, it is an opportune time to appreciate the importance of the Old Johannian Association and its worldwide network of Old Johannians in the legacy and sustainability of St John’s. 2023 sees the Old Johannian Association celebrate its own significant milestone of having been in existence for 120 years, to complement that of St John’s.
