A worldwide network of Old Johannians
A world-class, sustainable St John’s College requires a world-class network of Old Johannians. The Old Johannian Association is the central point through which all Old Johannians can stay connected with the St John’s community while performing a facilitative role in OJs contributing to and benefiting from the worldwide network of OJs.
The Old Johannian Association’s core purpose is a commitment to contributing to St John’s sustainability. To this end, The association provides opportunities to connect with each other in social and professional contexts and promotes OJs among their peers.
The Old Johannian Association, established in 1903, plays a vital role within the wider St John’s Community. The association's core focus is to develop and maintain an active network of Old Johannians and deliver value so that they may actively participate within the worldwide network. The OJA provides Old Johannians with opportunities to connect with fellow Old Johannians in social and professional contexts, ideally promoting OJs amongst their peers. Important to the success of the OJA is the sub-network of OJA representatives situated in key network hubs across the globe.
A strong, active, and united Old Johannian network contributes to a sustainable St John’s College. It ensures that the values and ethos of St John’s College are maintained and carried forward beyond the school corridors and contributes value to the future of St John’s.
OJA Committee
The OJA is governed by a committee which is re-elected every year at a formal Annual General Meeting. This committee, strictly comprised of Old Johannians, is tasked with overseeing all matters relating to the Old Johannian community and ensuring the commercial sustainability of the Association. The Committee, which meets monthly, is divided into portfolios, including finance, administration, reunions, sport and communication, each governed by further sub-committees.

St John’s College’s dedication to transformation, diversity and inclusion
All members of the St John’s College community commit to a stand against racism not only in spirit but formally in codes of conduct for students, parents and staff and in the commissioning of members of Council and the Old Johannian Association. This allows us all to build a St John’s that truly displays the qualities of Lux, Vita, Caritas.
The Transformation and Diversity Committee includes, inter alia, oversight of all transformation and diversity initiatives designed to redress past and present unfair discrimination, safeguard against future unfair discrimination, and monitor compliance with the school’s Dignity and Anti-Discrimination Policy and Commitment Against Racism.
