Habits of the Heart IV
Habits of the Heart, founded by St John’s College in partnership with the Anglican Board of Education in Southern Africa, is set to return for its fourth year from 3 to 6 October.
Old Johannians Return for a Memorable Gaudy Day
Our Old Johannian community gathered at the College on Saturday, 13 July, for our annual Gaudy Day, a cherished occasion to reminisce and celebrate our shared love for St John's.
Obituary: Adrian Philip Nicholas Walton (Head of School, Nash 1984)
The community of St John’s College will be saddened to hear of the passing of an exemplary Johannian, Adrian Walton, who was Head of School in 1984. Adrian succumbed to his battle with cancer at a relatively early age on 3 July 2024. He was 57 years old.
2024 Golden Eagle Award Recipients
St John's College is pleased to announce that Dr Rutledge Stephen (Steve) Boyes (Hill 1996) and Luke Potter (Nash 1995) are the recipients of this year's Golden Eagle Award.
2024 Gaudy Day

Eminent Speaker Breakfast Series 2024
The OJA hosted three Eminent Speaker Breakfasts in the first part of 2024. Each presentation provided a deep understanding of complex issues and current trends and was followed by conversation, networking opportunities and breakfast at the OJ Club.

Zacharias Onyejiaka is the Top A Level Student in South Africa
St John’s Sixth Form alum Zacharias Onyejiaka (Sixth Form 2023) was recognised as the Top A Level Student in South Africa in the 2023 Cambridge International Academic Awards.
Obituary: Hugh Henry Huggett (Nash 1958)
St John’s College has suffered a grave loss of a revered Johannian with the death of Hugh Henry Huggett, an education activist and throughout his life, a man who followed the principle of Ubuntu in his varied and memorable career and in all that he had done.
Talking Elections with Aubrey Masango
Broadcast journalist and Old Johannian Aubrey Masango (Clayton 1990), well known for his insightful social and political commentary, joined Amphitheatre to address our students on the importance of voting and its critical role in shaping the nation's future.

St John's College is saddened to learn of the passing of David Matthews (Nash 1954). Southern Africa has lost a great pioneer in post-apartheid education.
