It was back to school for the young men and boys of the St John's College and Prep Academies with a new class of Grade 10s and a new class of Grade 5s joining the programme.

The St John's College Academy, now in its 12th year, offers an after-school enrichment programme for boys in Grades 10, 11 and 12 promoting excellence in maths, physical sciences, English and life skills. The Academy operates three days a week and accepts young men from disadvantaged backgrounds who attend government schools in Hillbrow and Highlands North.

The College Academy is complemented by the Prep Academy where Grade 5 and 6 boys from schools in Yeoville join us on campus three afternoons a week for enrichment in literacy, numeracy and technology.

The Academies are solely funded by the generous donations of our community, through the St John's College Foundation.

St John's is proud of this programme which does, and will continue to, have a positive impact on the boys and young men who participate. We trust that they will leave their mark on their families, communities and South Africa.
