St John's College

St John’s College Sixth Form is delighted to announce our 2022 AS and A Level results.

“I am particularly proud that our Sixth Form students achieved this level of excellence, and wish all the 2022 Upper Six leavers the very best as they start their university careers either in South Africa or overseas, as I know they are well prepared,” said Mr Paul Emant, Head of Sixth Form. "Congratulations to the students, their parents, and particularly the teachers who have guided them during their Sixth Form journey."

The subject pass rate of the students who wrote the A Level examinations was 99%.

  • 77% of students achieved A* to C symbols across all subjects.
  • 14% of our symbols were over 90% in one or more A Level subjects.
  • 34% were over 80% in one or more subjects.

Nicholas Lowick, our top A Level achiever this year, who achieved 3 x A* and 94% average, has already been offered a place at Oxford where he will read Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.

“The Sixth Form and their curriculum add enormous investment to St John’s College, its journey as a school and its staff," said Mr Stuart West, Executive Headmaster. "We celebrate the proud academic achievement of all our Sixth Form students this year, supported by a hard-working and dedicated team of teachers. We applaud their exceptional achievements and recognise their courage and dedication in trying times. They have done themselves, and all of us proud.”

The consistency in our overall results are impressive and a tribute to the dedication and flexibility of the Sixth Form teachers who take on this responsibility, as well as their College Matriculation commitment, for which we thank and salute them. This is testimony to the academic strength of our school.

St John’s Sixth Form attracts top students from South Africa, Africa, and the world with Cambridge qualifications that are internationally recognised and open doors worldwide.
