The Old Johannian Association celebrates the outstanding achievements of the Matric Class of 2024 in the IEB examinations. With a 100% tertiary pass rate, 124 achieved Bachelor’s Degree passes, and the class earned 401 distinctions, averaging 3.2 distinctions per student.
Executive Headmaster Stuart West praised the Class of 2024 for their resilience and leadership, overcoming challenges and embodying the St John’s tradition of academic and all-round excellence.
Highlights:
- 401 distinctions: Two students achieved 9 distinctions, 11 earned 8 distinctions, and 42% of students attained four or more distinctions.
- STEM Excellence:
- Mathematics: 86% uptake with a 77% average, 11% above the IEB average.
- Physical Sciences: Two-thirds of students achieved a 69% average, 8% above the IEB average.
- Further Studies Mathematics: 24 distinctions (63% of candidates).
- Humanities Success:
- English average: 77% (7% above IEB).
- History average: 79% (9% above IEB).
- Dramatic Arts: Exceptional 88% average.
Recognition:
- Three students earned spots on the IEB Outstanding Achievement list, and one on the Commendable Achievement list.
- 16 subject results placed in the top 1% nationally.
