"Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack, a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." Leonard Cohen

Today, the College paid tribute to the late Mr Simpson this morning, where we remembered Luke, our friend and colleague; Mr Simpson, the inspiring English teacher and Luke Simpson, the environmentalist. We heard tributes from Ms Anné du Plessis, Dr Craig Higginson, Mr Mike Boyd, Sihle Simelane (UV Fleming), Dumi Fuyane (UV Hodgson), Enrique du Plooy (UV Thomson) and Ms Tracy-Lee Edwards. In memory of Mr Simpson, we will start an environmental movement within our school, headed up by Liam Snyman and those students who are in the house environmental portfolios. The Enviro Club of 2021 - Remo Scaramal (UV Hodgson), James Scott (UV Clarke), Zach Roussos (UV Hill), Mr Dan France and Ms Tracy-Lee Edwards - handed over a Wild Pear tree to the school, and a PomPom tree to Ms Lyn Donnelly, Mr Simpson's wife. Both trees are in memory of Mr Simpson and are symbolic of our commitment to conscious and environmentally responsible decisions at the College.
