On Friday, 12 July, the walkway past the “Boy with the Eagle” came alive with the thundering footsteps and spirited cheers of the annual College Dash. Traditionally held on the eve of Gaudy Day, this year's event circled the Deane Yates and Alan Wilcock Vulindlela buildings in a thrilling one-lap race. Each of the nine Houses sent forth its bravest sprinter to compete in this time-honoured event.
The atmosphere was electric as students thronged around the statue, eagerly cheering on the arrival of their House champions at the finish line. Tino Munyurwa (UV Hill) emerged victorious, ensuring the coveted trophy remains proudly displayed in the Hill House trophy cabinet for another year. Kago Masote (UV Nash) was in second place, followed by Glenn Greyling (LIV Clarke) in third.
