Battle of the Bands 2025 – St John’s College Live Music Competition

St John’s College presents the Battle of the Bands — the inaugural Prep and College Contemporary Live Music Competition.

Featuring five Prep band finalists, five College bands finalists, and three special guest performances, this promises to be an exciting showcase of live contemporary music.

These talented young musicians will battle it out on stage, showcasing their creativity and passion for original contemporary music. The competition offers them the chance to gain performance experience, receive constructive feedback from an industry panel, and be motivated to continue writing and performing music.

In addition to the competition, attendees will enjoy three special guest acts, adding even more excitement to the day. The full lineup of guest performers will be announced closer to the event, giving fans an extra reason to attend and experience the next generation of South African music talent.
