Our College staff and students gathered in the Rene England Auditorium on Friday, 30 January 2026, to recognise the achievements of Remove to Lower IV Students of the Year 2025 at the Academic Prize-Giving ceremony.
Mr Dale Jackson, the 17th Executive Headmaster, congratulated the students in his first Academic Prize-Giving address. He commended the boys for setting a standard not only for themselves, but also for their peers. He reminded them that learning is not a destination, but a journey, and challenged them to continue striving for intellectual honesty and curiosity as they carry these values into the next stage of their academic lives.
“Whether you are an academic prize winner or not, remember that academic excellence is not about comparison with others. It’s about personal growth; it is about developing habits of thought and character that will serve you well long after you leave the College walls," said Mr Jackson.
He also acknowledged the vital role played by teachers whose expertise, dedication, and high expectations shape young men to think deeply and question assumptions. Mrs Vanessa Govender, Deputy: Academics, then presented awards to the students.
