Mobilising the Power of Collective Giving
St John’s is more than a school – it is a tight-knit, passionate community of students, Old Johannians, parents, Old Johannian parents, and staff – who all care deeply about its present, its future, and its history and heritage. Over the last 125 years, thousands of people’s lives have been influenced by their time at St John’s.
Today’s students may not yet realise the profound influence that their school days will have on their futures. Old Johannians – from all around the world – who matriculated decades ago, return to the school and still feel a deep connection to the place that was so formative in their lives. Parents who have chosen to entrust their children’s education to St John’s, many of them Old Johannians themselves, make significant sacrifices because they know the value of the gift of an exceptional education.
The support of these thousands of members of the St John’s family all over the globe is crucial to sustaining the future of the school. Through the power of a broad base of donors – contributing through regular giving, one-off major gifts, class gifts and bequests – we can ensure that generations to come have the same precious privilege of a St John’s education.
How to Give
In South Africa, donations can easily be made via the online giving portal on the St John’s College website.
You can make a donation with a credit card, an EFT or Snapscan QR code on this portal, and you can choose to make a once-off or regular gift of any size.
Please contact the Advancement Office directly if you would like to discuss a major gift or leaving a bequest. To make a donation in the UK or USA, please see the Foundation how to give page for more details, or contact the regional representative below.
Donor Recognition
With your permission, all gifts, no matter how big or small, will be honoured on donor boards, in campaign reports, on the website and on the 125 Honour Wall.
At a certain level of contribution, the school would like to honour our donor with naming rights for a facility, bursary or scholarship. This can be in the name of your family, your class, or somebody who you would like to honour. Please speak to the Advancement Office for more details.
Benefits of Giving
Bona fide gifts may qualify for tax benefits, subject to local tax legislation. More details about the terms and conditions of tax benefits can be found at sjc.co.za/beyond125. Please contact the Advancement Office in South Africa or the relevant country representative to find out more.
