St John's College is pleased to present the 18th St John’s College Basketball Tournament, brought to you by MTN from 23 to 26 February 2023, a highlight on the boys’ school basketball calendar for the past 18 years.

Riyaadh Gani (Runge 2022), one of our top-performing A Level students, organised a free glucose testing drive in Lenasia at the end of last year, which residents, especially those in informal settlements, were encouraged to attend.
It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of John Henry Gordon (Nash 1953) on 30 January 2023.
St John's College proudly presents the inaugural High-Performance Summit on 10 and 11 March, two full days featuring eminent and influential high-performance practitioners as they share their knowledge on all things high-performance and what makes student-athlete development vital to the future success of South African sports.
This year’s Community Mass was extra special as it marked the beginning of our 125th-anniversary celebrations at St John’s College, a time to reflect on where we have come from and to look forward to where we are headed.
It was a very busy year last year, and the last part of the Michaelmas term was no exception to this rule.
As you will see from this retrospective College Life, we ended the year with many celebrations – fitting, given the excellence of our students. From the Senior Eskom International Science Fair to premieres at Film Festivals, from academics to sports to cultural activities, our students and staff covered a vast range of activities with excellence.
St John’s College Sixth Form is delighted to announce our 2022 AS and A Level results, with a subject pass rate of for students who wrote the A Level examinations of 99%. We congratulate them and their parents and teachers who guided them during their Sixth Form journey.
We are devastated to inform you of the tragic passing of Sonwabile Makaula (UIV Hodgson). He was diagnosed with viral cardiomyopathy in October last year and, after a brave struggle, succumbed to heart failure on Wednesday 4 January 2023.
