Jonathan Stagman achieved an average of 91.1% and eight distinctions. He was included on the IEB Commendable Achievements list and featured in the top 1% of candidates per subject in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. He also achieved 99% in his mathematics examination.
Thomas Kruger achieved an average of 92.7% and eight distinctions. He was included on the IEB Outstanding Achievements list and featured in the top 1% of candidates per subject in Information Technology and Physical Sciences.
Khelan Desai achieved an average of 93.4% with eight distinctions. He was featured on the IEB Outstanding Achievements list and was also included in the top 1% of candidates per subject for English Home Language, Life Orientation, Mathematics and Physical Sciences.
Ruhil Gosai achieved an average of 93.5% with nine distinctions. He was included on the IEB Outstanding Achievements list, featured in the top 1% of candidates per subject list as well as the top 1% of candidates for Further Studies in Mathematics, achieving 100% in the elective Graph Theory and Matrices.
Sebastian Bouilliart achieved an average of 96.4% in his final examinations with eight distinctions. He was featured on the IEB, the top 1% of candidates per subject, and achieved 99% in Mathematics and 100% in Calculus and Algebra for Further Studies in Mathematics Extended.
St John’s College has returned yet another exceptional set of matric results, with the Class of 2022 achieving a 100% pass rate and a 100% Bachelor Degree Pass.
It was a very busy year last year, and the last part of the Michaelmas term was no exception to this rule.
As you will see from this retrospective College Life, we ended the year with many celebrations – fitting, given the excellence of our students. From the Senior Eskom International Science Fair to premieres at Film Festivals, from academics to sports to cultural activities, our students and staff covered a vast range of activities with excellence.
St John’s College Sixth Form is delighted to announce our 2022 AS and A Level results, with a subject pass rate of for students who wrote the A Level examinations of 99%. We congratulate them and their parents and teachers who guided them during their Sixth Form journey.
We are devastated to inform you of the tragic passing of Sonwabile Makaula (UIV Hodgson). He was diagnosed with viral cardiomyopathy in October last year and, after a brave struggle, succumbed to heart failure on Wednesday 4 January 2023.

The St John’s College Academy Valedictory Service is always a bitter-sweet occasion as we celebrate the achievements of our boys and young men and bade farewell to our Grade 7s and 12s. This year was no different as the Academy students from the Prep and College gathered in the Memorial Chapel with their parents, teachers and friends of the Academy.
