From the Headmaster's Desk: The final Michaelmas Term Newsletter from Mr Paul Edey, 15th Headmaster of St John's College.

The St John’s College Academy matric gents celebrated the end of their time at St John's at a Valedictory Service in The Crypt Chapel.

The St John's College Parents' Association, in collaboration with RMB, present Kulcha Afrika. Kulcha Afrika is a visual arts Exhibition, BUNKA KULCHA that will be open on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 August.

Thomas Mahlomotja has been a familiar friendly face to many Johannians over the years. Thomas joined The Johannian Club from the Sandton Sun back in 1991 and took up his position behind the bar in The Boar’s Head.

Elizabeth Camilla Macfarlane (Kim, Kimmy, Timmie), beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years on 4 April 2019 in Sherwood House, Kenilworth, Cape Town.

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Norman McFarland yesterday afternoon. “Legend” is a horribly overused word, but Norman was a truly great schoolmaster who had a profound and lasting influence, not only on the young men that he taught but also on so many of his colleagues.

St John's College is proud to announce the appointment of Mr Stuart West as the new Executive Headmaster who will pick up the reins in January 2020.

It is with great sadness that the Johannian community learns of the passing of Hugh Lewin at his home in Killarney on the 16th of January. Mr Lewin attended St John’s College from 1948 until 1957.

We said farewell to our matric Academy gents who have been with us for the past three years and wished them all the best in their final exams at the St John's College Academy Valedictory Mass in the Crypt Chapel.

St John's College has reconstituted the Transformation and Diversity Committee to be representative of all Johannians, serving as a sub-committee of Council.
