Michael Van Heerden (Head of Fleming 2025) has been selected for the South African National High Performance Olympic Youth Swimming Training Squad.

The College hosted its annual Upper V Speech Day on 9 October 2025, marking the end of the academic year and the beginning of a new chapter for the Class of 2025.

Legendary cricket umpire, Harold “Dickie” Bird, passed away at his home in Yorkshire on 22 September 2025. One of the most respected umpires in cricket history, and recognised with an MBE in 1986 and an OBE in 2012 for his contribution to cricket and charity. A little-known fact about Bird was that he coached at St John’s College between 1973 and 1976.

St John's College hosted its first-ever Battle of the Bands on Saturday, 20 September 2025, bringing together talented young musicians from schools across Johannesburg for an afternoon and evening of contemporary music, giving the audience the chance to see tomorrow’s music legends live on stage today!
