In his first address to the school in 2025, Siza Gule (Head of School) reflected on St John's College's legacy of hope and resilience, inspired by the Reverend Fitzwilliam Carter's leadership during a time of crisis.
In Michaelmas Term, we celebrated several milestones that highlight the spirit and success of our students and community. The Matric Class of 2024 completed their final exams on 25 November, with a heartfelt send-off from parents. Newly inducted School and House Prefects, led by Head of School Siza Gule, were recognised for their leadership, with special mention of the Heads of Service for their role in shaping the school culture.
St John’s College celebrates the exceptional achievements of the Matric Class of 2024 in the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) examinations. All 125 students contributed to our 100% tertiary pass rate.
St John’s College proudly hosted the MIT Africa/ISASA Mathematics & Science Seminar, welcoming 106 students from 44 schools across South Africa and Eswatini. This year's theme was Technical Topics in Quantum Mechanics, delving into Nuclear Physics, Particle Physics, Quantum Theory, and Quantum Technology.

St John’s College announces with great sadness the passing of our oldest Old Johannian. John David (Jack) Hadfield passed away early on Tuesday morning, 5 November 2024, eighty years after he had matriculated from the College.
