Dr Ben Oosthuizen steps down from his role as the Director of Music at St John’s College as he retires after 37 years of distinguished service. During this time, he has made a profound and positive contribution to the college, music students and music education in South Africa.

The St John's College and Prep Academy Prize-Giving and Valedictory Service, which took place in The Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, 31 October, is always a special occasion as we celebrate the achievements of our Academy students. It is also always a sad occasion as we say farewell to our Grade 7s and matrics as their time with us comes to an end.

As William Mills (UV Thomson) matriculates this year, he leaves behind an exceptional legacy. His vision, unwavering determination, and commitment to establishing the St John’s College & Academy Cycling Group profoundly enriched the lives of the young men who rallied alongside him. This is his remarkable story.

Students, staff and Upper V parents gathered in Pelicon Quad to the beautiful sounds of the College Symphony Orchestra for Upper V Speech Day, always a highlight on the College calendar.

The annual College Art Exhibition sparkled with elegance as our community gathered in the Rene England Auditorium for a delightful evening of cocktails and canapes and to view the work of our College students.

The 2nd Archbishop Emeritus Tutu Memorial Mass & Lecture held in the Memorial Chapel on Sunday, 8 October, was a profound event presided over by our College Chaplains with a special guest lecture by The Revd Frank Chikane.
