St John's College

It is compulsory for students to take part in a summer and winter team sport at the College, with a wide variety of choices available.

While participation in sport is physically beneficial, it is also important that enjoyment is a major feature. Classes have regular Physical Education periods as part of the normal education programme.

There are generally two practices and a match each week during the sports season, and possible festivals and tournaments for various teams. There are no assessments for sport but there is assessment during the Physical Education programme, as well as steroid testing conducted as part of the school's drug-testing programme.

Conditioning is required to improve fitness in the students own time. The school gym high-performance gym is available with sports scientists on duty. There is no membership required for students.
