All our new students were formally inducted into the St John's College family at the New Students' Induction Service in the Memorial Chapel, joining 128 years of proud Johannians who have walked these halls before them.
One hundred and twenty students from across Southern Africa gathered at St John’s College this January for an immersive week exploring quantum physics with MIT postgraduate researchers. The annual ISASA | MIT | St John’s College Mathematics and Science Programme took place from 5 to 9 January 2026.
When the 1st team cricketers arrive at Mitchell Field ahead of their matches, they generally seek out Mr Mishack Ngcongwane to ask him how the pitch is playing. He has been working on that wicket for 11 years now – and on cricket pitches for twice that time – and he's pretty confident that he can read the conditions and pass on good advice.

Easter Term always commences with the Community Mass, a special way to start the year at St John’s College. It’s a time when our entire community, students from Pre-Prep to Sixth Form, Old Johannians, Council members, staff, and parents, gathers on Burger Field beneath the magnificent northern facade of our school.
The Academy Class of 2025 has achieved a 100% pass rate, with 90% of students achieving a Bachelor degree pass. The class achieved 22 distinctions and 44 B symbols.

We are incredibly proud of our top achievers who earned an overall average of 90%+, as well as those recognised on the IEB Outstanding Achievement and Commendable Achievement lists, and in the Top 1% of candidates per subject.
