History at St John’s Prep encourages a skills-based approach using source material such as maps, graphs, cartoons, photographs, statistical tables, direct quotations, public addresses, songs and poems which boys analyse in an interpretative and critical manner.
We aim to empower our boys with these skills so that thewill develop an open-minded, questioning and critical attitude. Not only will they understand History, but we hope they will come to value it for the interesting, fun and challenging subject that it is.
