Mr Hatim Eltayeb, Dean of the Academy at the African Leadership Academy, addressed our matric group on the topic of 'Purpose: Loose Ruminations on South Africa, Identity and the Future.'

Congratulations to our St John's Prep boys who have once again taken the coveted title of SA Kids' Lit Quiz Champions. St John’s Prep entered two teams into the 2019 SA Kids’ Lit Quiz with the finals taking place on Saturday, 23 February at Roedean School.

A number of junior provincial debaters attended trials to be considered for the South African National Debating Team at the beginning of February. Five St John's College debaters were selected to attend these trials.

It is with great sadness that the Johannian community learns of the passing of Hugh Lewin at his home in Killarney on the 16th of January. Mr Lewin attended St John’s College from 1948 until 1957.
